Sure, there’s no sex on the Disney Channel, but no sexuality? Give me a break! Half the plot of High School Musical was Troy and Gabriella trying to become a couple. The big draw for Hannah Montana over the summer was “Who Could Be the One?” where Hannah has to chose between her old flame and her new beau. At any given moment, you turn on the Disney Channel and watch whichever boy chase after whichever girl, depending on what show is on at the current moment. (Or whichever girl chase after whichever boy.) It’s not sex but it is sexuality.
The same argument – no sexuality – was tossed out when J.K. Rowling announced her character, Head Master Albus Dumbledore was gay. Only this time, it wasn’t the author trying to save face but rather the audience was. To her credit, Rowling never said that there was no sexuality in Harry Potter. It was the parents who claimed that one of the best things about Harry Potter was its lack of sexuality. But, like Marsh, they’re wrong. There might not be sex but there’s certainly sexuality. I tried this code in my Joomla component. But I got an error message saying "Could not instantiate mail function".
